Erasmus+ Professional and Cultural Mobility in Transylvania
Students of Letenyey Lajos Secondary Grammar School, Technical School and Vocational Training School participated in a professional and cultural study visit in Transylvania within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme from 20 to 31 May 2026. During the nearly two-week mobility programme, the students gained valuable professional experience while enriching their cultural knowledge and community experiences.
As part of the programme, hospitality students were involved in restaurant operations and event management, while students specializing in agriculture expanded their practical skills through activities related to animal husbandry, agricultural machinery, and the installation of an irrigation system. Alongside their professional training, participants had the opportunity to discover the cultural and natural heritage of Transylvania.
The students visited several attractions, including the Pharmacy Museum, the House of Collections, the towns of Sfântu Gheorghe and Brașov, the Székely National Museum, and an open-air village museum. Participating in the Csíksomlyó Pilgrimage was a particularly memorable experience, as were excursions to the Bicaz Gorge, the Red Lake, and Saint Anne Lake. The students also gained insight into local traditions and community life.
By the end of the mobility programme, the participants had not only enhanced their professional knowledge and practical competencies but also developed their independence, cooperation skills, and sense of community. Once again, the Erasmus+ programme demonstrated the lasting value of international experience, intercultural encounters, and experiential learning for young people.
